Imagine this – a hotel dedicated to the memory of just one person.
The great Bill Shankly is that person and the Shankly Hotel a fitting tribute to his brilliance as a club manager. If you’re not too sure who he is, 1) you’re probably not from Liverpool and 2) probably not that much in to the footie. Me? Well, I can’t claim either of those about myself – I only know about him from several shoots at Anfield Stadium, whose walls are plastered with the great man’s hugely entertaining quotes. So if you need to know more about him, try clicking here: Liverpool Football Club
Anyway, enough about him, more about Sarah and Steven’s wonderful wedding at this iconic venue. We started the day in the hotel with the girls’ preparations and then popped up the road to St Anthony’s for a lovely ceremony in what must be the brightest church in Liverpool! Sadly the weather was anything but, so it was a quick dash back to the Shankly for the rest of the day, which meant no photos in St John’s Gardens, or at St George’s Hall. Yes, we were a bit gutted, but everyone was having so much fun, it really didn’t seem to matter. And all was not lost, weather-wise – the gales and rain managed to stop just briefly enough to allow us five minutes on the amazing roof terrace of the hotel. If you’re getting married at The Shankly Hotel, and you like these photos, then why not drop us a line – we’d love to photograph your wedding too!
