A long drive, a small party – but no shortage of joy!
Every now and again, I’m asked to photograph a wedding at a venue a little way away from my normal stamping grounds of Liverpool, Wirral and Chester. This always delights me as I love a long drive in the car – so much of my time is spent in the office doing admin and post-production, I feel like I sometimes forget that there’s a world outside there at all! So Dawn and Jason – thank you both so much for choosing me to shoot your big day at Thurnham Hall in Lancaster. It’s an unusual place as it’s not really a hotel or wedding venue per se – it’s a 12th century hall turned into luxury holiday apartments for time shares. Riii-ght… However, it’s also a fantastic place to get married! The Great Hall is simply fabulous and the exterior is gorgeous with gardens, gravel paths, gnarly trees and even a duck pond. It fitted Dawn and Jason’s wedding perfectly as proof that size isn’t everything – it’s the quality that counts. Dawn and Jason were so much fun to be with and so relaxed to photograph; this helps me no end to take the kind of photos that I love to provide my wedding couples with. Thurnham Hall is a fabulous location for a wedding and I’d love to shoot there again – get in touch if you’re planning your wedding there…
