Liverpool is filled to the brim with astonishing places to get married – whether only for tying the knot or for both the ceremony and the after-party!
This is what makes it so perfect for my job – professional wedding photographer. I never get tired of shooting at Liverpool’s premier venues, and St George’s Hall is a prime example of this fact. So fabulous is this building that you may have seen it on the telly-box lately standing in for, one assumes, the Houses of Parliament, in the BBC’s adaptation of HG Wells’ War of the Worlds. However, I digress – let’s talk about Peter and Keely’s lovely wedding.
Their Liverpool wedding was only a small affair, but by no means short on fun and laughter. The wedding ceremony was in St George’s Hall registry office end – a curious feature of this building is that one end is the Registry Office run by Liverpool City Council. The other end is a venue for weddings, concerts, etc. Having completed their vows and exchange of rings, we made our way outside onto what is probably the best place in Liverpool for family photos, thanks to the amazing sandstone steps leading to the enormous cast iron front doors of St George’s. The exterior of the building is perfect for wedding photography and we took full advantage of it! A short taxi ride took us to The Richmond Apart-Hotel, where we completed the couple shoot and the rest of the day. Here’s a selection from Peter and Keely’s lovely wedding – a very relaxed day with lovely people having lots of fun. What could be better?!
