Thoroughly fun from beginning to end, this was such a wonderful wedding. The Hallmark Hotel, Sefton Park (formerly known as the Alicia Hotel) may not be big, but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in terms of charm, location, excellence of staff and overall skill in wedding management. I always enjoy shooting there and have never heard a negative report from any of my couples that I’ve worked with there. Rachael & Kevin certainly had a great time there!
We started at Rachael’s parents house for bridal preparations. Following this (often my favourite part of the day!) we set off for St Cecelia’s RC Church for their wedding ceremony. Finally we ended up in Sefton Park where the Hallmark Hotel enjoys its very close proximity to such an amazing location. As expected, the hotel staff did a fabulous job of looking after the happy couple and their guests. We took the bridal party to one of Sefton Park’s many entrances for some shots with the cars before the drivers left. Next, some lovely photos with a couple who are very much in love and finally, the vitally important family photos back at the hotel. It may have been October, but the weather was kind to us and we were able to do all the principal wedding photography outside!
A few shots with the couple in their suite, before leaving them there for a break while we photographed the room setup. I always try and make sure that the couple get some downtime on their own during the day or else it can all seem like a ride on an express train! The excellent meal was followed by speeches and then the fabulous Fun Casino Royale team entertained the guests with some reckless gambling – for toy money naturally! And of course, it was my absolute pleasure to photograph Rachael’s sister’s wedding a few years later. I love it when I photograph the wedding of more than one member of a family – it feels like you’re part of the wider family.
