Oh Me Oh My, what a wedding!
OK, yes, what a terrible pun, too. Anyway. Alex & Mike got married in St Anthony of Padua RC Church in Mossley Hill – one of Liverpool’s most beautiful churches, and not far from where I’m based in Aigburth. The interior had recently been refurbished and is now sporting a striking sky blue ceiling; it really is quite breath-taking. Following their ceremony, they moved into the city centre with their reception and party at the delightfully quirky Oh Me Oh My, with its rooftop terrace bar offering amazing views of the fabulous Liver Building. This part of Liverpool is probably my favourite for shooting weddings in – there’s just so much to photograph couples with. A simple circuit of the Mann Island development, taking in the UNESCO World Heritage trio of the Port of Liverpool Building, the Cunard Building and the Liver Building gives you all the architectural backdrops you could want from any wedding shoot. I could shoot weddings here all day for a year and still not get bored or tired of looking at these fabulous iconic buildings.
Oh Me Oh My itself is almost perfect for weddings. With its mezzanine floor giving an alternative view of proceedings on the gorgeous wooden-floored space below, it has a special place in my heart as a highly recommended venue for weddings in Liverpool.
