Another year over, a new one begun… so let’s look back at 2022!

Now, is it just me, or are we on some terrible slide to national doom right now? 2020 – sucked. 2021 – blew chunks. 2022 – not much better. Common denominator? The Tories. Still failing to do anything to actually improve the country after the horror of Brexit. However, this is not a political blog, and I’m not here to rant. In fact, I’m here to rave… about last year’s best wedding photos from my Liverpool, Wirral and Cheshire shoots.

For me, the year started at Goodison Park – I was very pleased to see that it’s been refurbished and now looks absolutely fantastic! Let’s just hope that Everton manage to stay up this season…  I got to shoot at the amazing Heaton House Farm for the 1st time – it’s also the venue for my first wedding shoot this year. Can’t wait to go back there! As the year progressed, I was working at Suites Hotel in Knowsley, the Hard Day’s Night Hotel, the Lakeside Marquee at Thornton Manor (unfortunately, probably for the last time ever – the house is burned to pieces and the marquees are going to be torn down for planning regulations breaches. So very sad) and the newly renamed Alicia Hotel – it’s now the Liverpool Aigburth Hotel. Not very imaginative naming… As the weather began to improve, I was at the marvellous Little Fox wedding venue in Thornton Hough – I truly hope to shoot there again; I loved it! Another new venue for me next – the Allerton Manor Golf Club. Superb! Back to old faithful St George’s Hall, then Faye & Chris’ house – you can’t get much more exclusive than that! A little wedding at a little venue, followed by a huge wedding at a huge venue: Isla Gladstone Conservatory. Following that, I got to spend the day with Michelle and Harvey on a wild urban wedding safari, that even included a session at the VRVE VR party zone! Another new venue for me was the Astley Bank Hotel in Darwen, followed by one of the first venues I ever shot in as a Liverpool wedding photographer: the Liner Hotel. Yet another new venue for a friend’s wedding: The Reader at Calderstones Park was just sublime. I did a little wedding in 2020 at the next venue – the wonderful Nunsmere Hall Hotel in Cheshire. 2022’s wedding here was huge – my assistant and I took over 3000 photographs as there was SO much going on! 2022 really proved to be the year of new venues for me – Norton Priory joined the list of my favourites. November and December brought me back to old and new respectively: Inglewood Manor (I’d really missed shooting there) and the Inn at Huxley (yet another new Cheshire wedding venue for me). So in spite of a slow start and lots of terrible news from around the world, 2022 proved to be a real humdinger for me as a wedding photographer and I’m delighted to show you the best of all the shoots I did that year. Enjoy! Oh, and get in touch if you are getting married this year or 2024 and want a photographer of my calibre at your wedding too. I’d LOVE to shoot your wedding too!
