Stadt Moers Park Wedding Photography

One of the reasons I love this city region so much is the surprises around every corner.

In some of the most urban of areas, can be  found the most stunning locations. Katie and Michael got married at the Village Hotel in Huyton. It’s a perfectly acceptable place to get married, but it’s not exactly brimming with photographic opportunity. So I went with Katie and Michael to Stadt Moers Park for their couple shoot in August  last year and we were very glad we did. Its curious name comes from Knowsley’s twinning with Moer in Germany. It used to be a brick factory and then a landfill site, but you’d never believe it now. Certainly the only trace of the brickworks is the rail tracks that have been left in situ. Now there’s a beautiful lake, some meadow space and a little hill giving me access to all my favourite wedding photography backdrops! We spent about 40 minutes away from the guests to get all these gorgeous summer shots. Admittedly, some of them did involve me legging it around to the opposite side of the lake from the couple and then back again, but the exertion was worth it. Hey, who needs the gym when you’re a wedding photographer!
