Joni & William – A bride in white and a groom dressed all in… white? Well, his jacket anyway…

Us Liverpool wedding photographers often joke about how hard wedding photography is, as you regularly have to create a correct exposure where the subjects are wearing exactly opposite colours.

You want the bride’s dress to appear white with details, so a little under-exposure helps. You want the groom’s suit to appear black with details, so a little over-exposure helps. You can see the problem… Thankfully, Lancastrian Joni and Geordie William threw convention out of the window (thanks guys!) and both wore white. Fantastic! They also made things easy by being young and in love, and by surrounding themselves with wonderful friends and family; therefore smiles and tears of joy were everywhere. They even got themselves married by a bishop! This was another wedding where, although the venue wasn’t particularly glorious, we still managed to get some amazing shots. Will even invented a new pose, which he called, “The Ward”. You can try it too – you just turn your back on the photographer. Thanks Will! 😉 Apologies are due to the green keeper at the crown bowling green (it was bone dry, so I thought the ladies’ high heels wouldn’t be an issue!) and almost the entirety of the Newcastle contingent, who made me nearly lose my voice by ignoring every instruction I gave them, either because they couldn’t understand my accent, or, as is more likely, they couldn’t hear me over the church bells. But we got there in the end. 🙂
