Guess which one of this lovely Liverpool wedding couple is the up-and-coming FIFA referee?

Helen! Marc does his bit on the big green all dressed in black too, but Helen is the rising star in football refereeing. She certainly stole the limelight on their wedding day in June this year. I’d photographed Helen’s sister’s wedding way back in 2014, so I was delighted to be asked to do Helen’s too. You can see Rachael and Kevin’s wedding here. It was lovely to meet all the family again – and to hear Kevin and Rachael say how they still look at their album and remember their wedding day through the wedding photos I’d taken for them. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy 🙂 Highlights of this wedding day were the funkiest Great Auntie ever and the bouquet toss to beat them all, when Helen’s throw-in hit the ceiling and dropped straight to the floor, followed closely by her sister Victoria; thankfully, no harm done!

Although the Suites Hotel in Knowsley is not exactly bursting with wedding visual charms, the staff do an amazing job and really looked after all the guests in the most caring way. Helen and Marc took my advice and invested just a little extra in their wedding budget to hire Croxteth Hall for a couple of hours in the evening. It really isn’t very expensive to do this and turns a wedding shoot at the Suites into a pure joy.
