Well, it had to happen eventually – after 10 years in this business, I’ve finally been rained on. This is not to say that I’ve never shot a wedding on a rainy day – that would be silly, but I’ve certainly never got wet before Chelsea and Phil’s day in September. Fortunately, weddings are about love and joy and not the weather, so in spite of it all, we still had a great time and got some great shots!

What happened to the weather?
Never been rained on before!
This may seem incredible of course, but it’s basically true – I’ve never had to try and shoot with a camera in one hand and an umbrella in the other, but I sure had to this weekend! Phil and Chelsea’s wedding got off to a fairly sunny start, but the heavens opened while we were in the church. Much sogginess ensued, but thankfully we had some bright skies by the time we got to Aintree Racecourse for the rest of their wedding photography. I’ll post some shots up here soon.
Things are hotting up nicely for 2012…
We currently have 15 weddings booked up for 2012. Considering this time in 2010 we had 4 booked up for 2011, we’re very excited about the coming year! However, things are hotting up, so if you’re interested in booking with us (and we sincerely hope you are – we’d LOVE to photograph your wedding!) then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. There’s nothing that troubles me more than a date being booked already when a bride-to-be gets in touch, so please hurry before the best dates are gone forever.
Your guests can now buy direct from us
Finally, we’ve taken the plunge and set up an e-commerce site for our couple’s guests to be able to view the photos and purchase them as well. We offer all the standard sizes of photos and even two sizes of canvas prints, which are always popular. The galleries are password protected for privacy, but you can see some other shots on the homepage by clicking here.
Another beautiful couple in a beautiful venue: Inglewood Manor, Cheshire
Man, I love my job!
Ruth and Peter’s wedding at Inglewood Manor was just a peach – a beautiful bride with eight crazy bridesmaids and a gorgeous little flower girl and a venue of the calibre of Inglewood Manor meant I was onto a good thing from the start. Couple this with the hot, hot, hot weather we had on that day – after days of rain – and everything was sure to come together just fine. Which, of course, it did…
What a great summer! Hillbark Hotel, the best in the north west!
This has been my busiest year ever – and the most fantastic for venues and amazing couples with amazing photography results. I’m well chuffed with how this summer has gone! Here’s one of the highlights:
Helen & Stuart – Hillbark Hotel, Wirral
Wow – when I visited Hillbark, I thought I’d died and gone to Wedding Venue Heaven! This place is just stirling – the best venue I’ve yet to shoot at. And Helen & Stuart were just the best to shoot. What a riot! Helen looked stunning – not a bad achievement when you consider that her beautiful dress had already been worn for her wedding in Costa Rica – Stuart’s birthplace. Pura Vida! (as they say in Costa Rica – having met Stuart, now very much on my list of destinations to visit!)
